Contrary to popular belief: We actually recorded this song last year. This is not a song about the new year. I think those are corny. Seriously, who gets on a record talking about “Yea! 2011 is my year!” Those kind of rappers irk me. I try not to say the year or my age in my songs because I want them to be timeless. You can’t transcend time if you’re putting it out all over the record.
So here we are, the second record for Leaderboard Thursday! As I said in the last post: This is the week of Mic G. He produced this and went in on the second verse. I posted two videos (here and here) of us working on this track. It’s pretty much a track that I wanted to scrap, but after rerecording my verses and remixing it, it came out as a track I definitely approve of! I truly hope you enjoy this as much as I did mixing it.
